I have had my BlackBerry storm (the first one) a few months now. Haven't had a problem with my camera till now ever time I try to open my camera, it's saying that I need to close other applications first. I closed everything that I thought was open, but I'm still getting the same message. I turned off the phone and turned it back on, Taken the batt out but still get the message. And now My video camera wont open ether .... Any ideas?. Thanks !!!!

If you are running the Storm 1 5.0.0.328 software try again to remove the battery while the device is powered on, wait about 30 seconds, insert battery and power up your device to free up allocated memory in order to launch the camera. This issue is due to certain applications not releasing allocated memory when they are closed. A fix for this issue is still under investigation and could be made on either the device software or the application itself. Unfortunately it's a known issue with the Storm 1 5.0.0.328 software.

@Morgan-
Didn't work for me. I used to be able to start my wife's Storm camera by taking out the battey before upgrading the OS, now that doesn't work any longer.
(I *knew* getting a BB w/o keys would be a bad idea... Just to much overhead in the OS.)

- On some occasions, when launching the camera, the customer may see a complete error message stating: "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again."
Short Term Work Around: Instruct the customer to remove and replace the battery and power the device back up to free up allocated memory in order to launch the camera.
Planned Resolution: This issue is due to certain applications not releasing allocated memory when they are closed. A fix for this issue is still under investigation and could be made on either the device software or the application itself. More information on the fix will be provided when available.
