After completing a phone call, I set the phone down. Moments later i picked it up and it was dead....had to pull the battery and reboot. Why or what in the world would cause this? It is important to me because I work on an On-Call basis and if I miss a call it's curtains! or worse! This happened only ten minutes before I was to go on call. Good thing I noticed the problem.
phone-blackberry storm 9530
battery=fully charged anin good condition holds charge
no other apps running
have not had any other quirks or problems
What happened? Do I need to contact Verizon support or tech?

how long have you had the phone? Have you update the software on the phone ? The storm has been known to shut down you could have a software problem you should call tech support and see if it is a known problem and if they have a fix

Is your memory full in your Phone? Do you know how to check it to see? What OS are you running?

Have plenty of memory (826). Went to options and checked. OS is 500328 up to date as far as I know. Have not had any prior problems with this phone.

Josie the numbers look good. The only other thing could be the .328 OS. I am using .419 an official BB release but not Verizon's. You need to back up your phone and I know there are several articles to see about loading a OS release other than Verizons. Start at crackberry.com and look for installing a OS Release. The main thing you have to do is go into the RIM software where it is on your comp. after you have downloaded it and delete the Vendor file. Then there is a loader there you will need to double click while your phone is plugged in and it will take a while. be sure Desk Mgr is open on your comp when you do this. I know .328 has some problems and this .419 has proven to work well. The best part for the Storm 1 is the setting for your keyboard where when you hover over a key it shows the key before you push it. No more mistakes typing now. Let me know if you do it and how it runs.
BE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR PHONE!

YES! That did it! Figured out the missing step of removing the app from windows, then it worked. Thank you very much for taking the time to write all that out. Now I hope it takes care of that glitch. Am on call 24/7 this weekend. Thanks. josie
