I have Verizon DSL at home and hence I had the Verizon Yahoo email account for some years now.......well Verizon and Yahoo have apparently ended their partnership in our area and I have had to start using the new Verizon Net Email account.
The transition is ok on the computer but I can not get my emails on my Blackberry Tour now.....
Has anyone else experienced this??
I have been on the phone with Verizon and Verizon Wireless and the phone is set up correctly and the only answer I seem to get is "it must be the server because we have lots of issues with the change over"
HELP!!
I get my work, AOL, and Gmail emails with no problem on the Blackberry.......just not my Verizon.net.
Thanks!

I had kind of a similar thing happen. I ended up going to:
https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?brand=vzw&locale=en
And setting up my login. If I remember right, I had to start off with my phone, where I was able to assign a username and password there (if you don't, it'll give you an error when you try to put in your PIN). Then once I established the login, I went online to the link above, logged in, and checked my email settings there. I think I had to check the "deliver as level 1 message" option, and there MAY have been another option as well, I can't remember. But I think the Level 1 delivery was the main part.
After that, it worked like a charm.

Thanks, I've tried this a couple of times with no success......this is a real pain in the neck!
I had 10 new emails (mostly[edit]) this morning and none came to my blackberry from the verizon.net account....its still
showing registered as yahoo.verizon.net in the blackberry.

I had the same problem before and stopped using verizon.net email address. Problem is that verizon.net is not direct push like gmail, yahoo, aol or hotmail and that's what cause you to receive emails delayed, etc.

So there is no solution to this? I can't believe a company the size of Verizon can't come up with some
kind of idea or way to correct this!
I'm really getting frustrated!

Best suggestion I can give you is forward your emails you get to your verizon.net email to a gmail, hotmail or yahoo address. That way you can get emails faster.

I guess I don't get it...why not just delete the email account completely from the blackberry IS, then set it up again from scratch, with the correct domain name? It won't hurt the actual account, and it'll just go through downloading whats on there again.

I tried this about six times yesterday, at the store and at my office.....it still loads up as yahoo.verizon.......
Maybe the last suggestion....forwarding it to my gmail will work.....I will give it a try.
Thanks all.....keep the suggestions coming....

There is actually an on going issue right now with Verizon.net emails being synced to mobile devices. It's not only affecting Blackberry's but all mobile devices. You may be affected by this. I would call Verizon Communications for troubleshooting and see if you can be included in the trouble ticket.

I have had exactly the same issue since the unsolicited change-over from Yahoo to Verizon webmail on March 27th. I have followed absolutely every single direction on verizon.net websites, I have called att support for blackberry and worked through this whole issue with a LIVE HUMAN tech support person who was very helpful. She could see the server settings at her console, and no matter what we did, the blackberry still saw the verizon email server as a yahoo.verizon.net server - but Verizon terminated sending email to the yahoo server, so I simply can't receive email to my verizon account on the blackberry. Interestingly, I can stil SEND email on the blackberry, and from my old Verizon yahoo acount; I just can't receive email.
I have gone through every single tech support mechanism available to me from verizon and have yet to speak to a real human voice, or get any acknowledgement that there is a problem. The automated chat is infuriating, because it assumes I'm an **bleep** who can't read. I am completely disgusted with Verizon at this point. I am tempted to change both my phone provider and my internet provider over this issue - and I was a VERY HAPPY customer until Verizon decided to 'upgrade' me to Verizon webmail!

Blackberry repaired the problem. Sat. when I got up there was a upgrade star on my phone .I downloaded the new program and that repaired the problem. After you put the new software on your phone either by phone or your data cable from your computer, you have to go to email settings and delete your email account on phone. After you delete reenter your same email and password and your email will not be linked to Yahoo anymore.

Well I gave it another try.....talked to Sandra.....very nice person.....absolutely a total waste of time on the phone....
He only solution was to contact Verizon Wireless......"your telling me about a problem on your Verizon Blackberry,
you will have to talk to Verizon Wireless about this problem"

My wife and I both have Blackberry 8330's. On MY phone, I was able to go into Email Settings, clicked "edit" under my email address, clicked on Advanced Settings, and changed my Email Server to incoming.verizon.net. I was then able to receive my Verizon.net email on my Blackberry.
The problem with my wife's phone (same 8330 phone), it that there is no "Advanced Settings" button, so I can't change to Email Server address, and I can't even see it. Why can't I change the Email Server on my wife's phone?
Thanks for your time.

Ok. So after this whole verizon yahoo to verizon.net email switch, I was left with 3 major problems:
1. I could no longer receive username@verizon.net emails on my blackberry.
2. The verizon.net email address I was using was a "subaccount" so my allowed space went from 2Gb on Verizon Yahoo to 250Mb on verizon.net. This caused all kids of havoc.
3. True switch only copied the first 300 of my 550 contacts and did not copy my groups.
After three days of torture trying to talk to Verizon (and verizon wireless and Blackberry/RIM), I finally found the answer:
1. I opened a new gmail account.
2. I added my username@verizon.net as a POP account, so that it goes and brings in those emails. (and I can also send from gmail as username@verizon.net. (requires some easy validations)
3. I imported all 550 contacts from my verizon.yahoo account by exporting them to a csv file and then importing into my new gmail account.
4. I added the new gmail account to my blackberry. (again requires some easy validations)
Now, when anyone sends an email to my username@verizon.net address, essentially gmail intercepts it, and puts it in my gmail inbox (marked that it's from verizon). AND it seemlessly goes to my blackberry, as well.
Now that it's in my new gmail account, I can reply to it using a from address from gmail or using the from address from username@verizon.net.
Essentially, my solution was the FIRE VERIZON as my webmail, but without giving up my username@verizon.net! In my opinion, they are history!

I forgot to mention. It would have been easy enough to have my username@verizon.net emails simply "auto-forwarded" to my new gmail account .... BUT .... you guessed it, verizon.net's email does not allow an option to "autoforward" and after hours on the phone with verizon's no-help center, and their agent insisting he could do it, logging onto my system remotely........ he finally talked to another tech and said that it was not a user-enabled feature, and it was not something they could override.
My vote is to FIRE THEM.

Thanks Icandkc......I am doing the same thing with the forwarding but I'm not sure how many emails I am missing......
And with Gmail I could not get the same user name so I had to add a couple numbers.....not convenient if changing
and notifying people of new email address.....
This is all a bunch of CRAP and I now am sorry that I had the verizon.net account for so many years and with so many
contacts!!!!! Now I have to email everyone and change them, and not to mention websites that I am on and so on...
This is like having some government tell you "Oh your address is wrong so we are changing it and you will have to change
your checks, mortgage, insurance and all your correspondence!"

Top right corner of the page (Gmail) and go to settings, forwarding and pop/imap
After that your on your own.....I got through it though so it can't be too bad.
Good luck!
