New phone help

I currently have a Blackberry Pearl with the Blackberry plan and Tethering.  I have now retired and do not need the Blackberry services, email, music, camera, etc.  What I do need is as follows:

1) We travel a lot outside of cities so I need a phone with GREAT reception.

2) A good speaker phone is a must.

3) the ability to connect to Mobil broadband for tethering is a must.

There seems to be a lot of choices, is there one that will give me these features and I can use the $9.99 data plan instead of the $29 plan?

What you want is one of Verizon's 3G Multimedia phones.  Look at the menu above Phones & Accessories and go to the link for Cell phones and 3G Multimedia phones.  The most highly rated seem to be the LG EnV3 or EnV Touch and the Samsung Rogue.  All of those use the $9.99 data plan.

Thanks for the feedback.  I thought those would be the phones.  Do you or anyone else know if I can keep my $15 tethering or is tethering going to cost me more with the $9.99 plan?

Be sure to check under the features when selecting a phone that the equipment is "Mobile Broadband Connect Capable" to take advantage of the tethering feature.
