Ever since yesterday none of my emails/gchat messages were coming into my Blackberry. The only way my data seemed to work is if I take out the battery and reset my phone. It is getting pretty irritating, anyone have any idea what to do??

It sounds like you are getting a fluccuating signal, switching from 1XEV to a slower speed such as 1xev or just 1X. Try to get to where you have a 1XEV signal and not roaming. Dial *228 and use option 2 to see if that clears things up for you.
