When I go to my apps on my blackberry tour, it says "cannot find server". Some of my texts aren't going through either. I can make phone calls, but am not receiving any emails. Please help!

Hi Mkeagan,

Wow, your post seems frustrating. It seems as if your device has partially lost it's registration, (connection with the network) and may need this updated. I would recommend what is called a soft reset. Simply remove the battery when the phone is powered on, then wait 60 seconds. Once this time has elapsed, re-attach the battery and power the phone on. Once it goes through the power up process, I would like you to please send your own mobile number a text message. This will test your ability to both send and receive messages.

I would also like you to pull up your email and press Menu. Then press Refresh and see if your emails start coming in.

If they do not start coming in, please remove the email account from the device, and then readd it.

Additionally, I would like to mention that it is a good idea to get into the habit of powering the phone off and on once every couple of days, and not to leave it powered on for days or weeks at a time.  There is no need to leave the phone powered down for any significant amount of time, a minute or 2 is perfectly fine.  The reason for this is that every time a wireless device powers on, it re-registers itself with the network.  There is a constant connection from the device to the network, and this registration can sometimes "time out". In a lot of cases, the result is exactly what you are experiencing.  So, you may be able to prevent this by simply power cycling the phone once a day or so.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to send me a PM with your name and contact information. I will be more than happy to reach out to you personally for some further assistance.

Thank you,
