Fairly new BlackBerry owner here. I have had the device for about a month but have not traveled with it yet. In October I will be traveling outside of the network. While I am outside of the network I want to prevent being charged for anything that would cause additional charges to appear on my account. If I have my device ON in the event I get any phone calls, will I get charged for e-mail messages/texts/etc. that are pushed to my phone? if so, what preventative steps can I take to avoid this?
Thanks in advance.

What I do when I travel internationally and all I want is phone call capability I turn the DATA off.
MANAGE CONNECTIONS-> Mobile Network Options ->Data Services -> OFF (or OFF when roaming also)
Disclaimer-------> This has been working for me, not sure if this is the proper way of doing it.
