I upgraded the device software from OS 5 to OS 6, and generally like the improvements except that I much prefer the old selection of ringtones from OS 5. From another forum, I was directed to http://mobileblackberry.com but could not find the necessary link to the OS 5 ringtones. Any help or suggestion?

Hi,
I have the OS 5 ringtones in a file for download. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to place 3rd party links for downloads in the forums. I can, however send them to your via Private Message. I will send you the link, which you will have to go to on your Blackberry web browser. Download the file and it will install directly into your ringtone folder, along with the OS 6 ringtones. Then, you will have the best of both worlds.

Hey,
I sent the link to all of the above who wanted it. I got my active profile on my Bold rinning OS 6 now with the OS 5 ringtones. That is one of the problems with OS 6, a lack of ringtones and a lack of themes. Oh, well.

Hey,
Check out this article on Crackberry.com. It has information on how to install the OS 5 ringtones on a device with OS 6. Be sure you go to the web page with your Blackberry browser. Hope this helps,

Could I possibly get the file you referenced in your comments. I'm not super savvy with stuff like this. I've tried to restore the sound settings and can't seem to figure that out. I'd like my old ringtones back! {edited for privacy} Thanks!

This link also works. http://n4bb.com/2885/download-os-5-0-ringtones-onto-os-6-for-free-from-rim
I've had OS 6 for a few months and this was definitely the easier way to download them.
Type this link on your mobile phone and it will download them straight to your phone and you don't have to worry about using desktop manager to install them.
