Hello, I am currently looking to switch my phone to a Blackberry Q10 by purchasing one off ebay.

I am wondering, when looking on ebay, must I be sure the phone comes with a SIM card? I currently have an iPhone 5. If it does not, how do I obtain one? Is it something I need? I'm confused.

Phones purchased off ebay usually don't have SIM cards included with the purchase; you can get one for free at your local Corporate Verizon store.

A reminder to ensure that the phone is Verizon branded with a clean ESN.

Yes, I asked the seller for the ESN, and searched the code on a ESN lookup site and it came back "clean".

I can take the phone I buy off ebay to the store and they'll activate with a sim card for me?

Yes, be sure to take it to a Corporate Verizon store.  There shouldn't be any change to your plan since you're 'bringing your own phone'.
