I hate my blackberry. Have a storm that freezes WAY to often. Verizon customer service is USELESS, they must not have service from Verizon as they do not seem to understand the problem, or, Just don't care!! Solution upgrade the phone...my opinion why throw more money away on a product that most likely won't be any better. If you have problems with a new phone who do you call the same people that can't help you now??? I have been a long time Verizon customer over 10 years and the last four have been horrible. I have weeks that I am in the Verizon store every day and they could not solve the problem. Then tell you to call that ever so helpfull customer service number. It is just one bad experience after another. BE SMART CHECK ALL WIRELESS SERVICES OUT CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU CHOOSE!!! I DON'T RECOMMEND VERIZON WIRELESS,

I have not known anyone who had that many problems with their phone. If you are not happy with the service fine leave. Just remember all phones have there own problems and its not exclusive to Verizon. Also if you drop VZW be prepared to be in any other carriers store everyday trying to get out of your contract due to dropped calls and lack of 3G service. Please if you dont have anything good to say about VZW then don't bother. The people on these forums are here to help each other not put the company down.

This is in response to bstorm2b:
I completely disagree with you! I had t-mobile and I did not have problems with their phones. The only reason i swtiched to verizon was because I knew a lot of people with the same company. However, we are all realizing that their phones are cheap quality, their customer service is horrible, and they try to cheat you. I believe the person and all others who bump heads with vzw are helping others because they are all warning them about the company. I was a HUGE fan of verizon until they started going into the slums. I can believe how cheap and careless they have become.

Verizon needs to understand they are not necessarily guaranteed customers. The poster prior to you has issues which are real. I know, I have them as well. The service I got from Verizon was poor and that should be made public.

Seems like it may be time to move on. When any simple service such as cellular causes as much disruption in your life as described why bother? There are 4 major carriers in the US to see which gives the level of service you are seeking. All have their faults and shortcomings IMO.
I am happy with Verizon CS, like my Blackberry device and the Verizon network coverage, but have many friends / family that feel the same about Sprint, At&T and T-Mobile and the devices they carry. Great that we have a choice.

Cricket's sell phones? I thought they communicated by rubbing their legs together!

I had a Verizon family plan for about 4 years with no problems. Then I started recieving strange spam texts that cost 10 dollars a text, and then I was being charged 10 more for a **bleep** data plan, and I was still being charged for data usage outside of my current package, and I'm sure I never downloaded anything. Not only that, I didn't even want the data package yet I was forced to from just buying the EnvyTouch. I just wanted the phone, not some rediculous package I won't ever use.
In the end of my Verizon experience, I had to haggle my way out of a 350 dollar early termination fee, yeah, customer service is great alright, psshh!! The guy was constantly trying to sell me all these other **bleep** options when I had made it clear that all I wanted was to terminate the line.
And yeah, bstorm2b, you're right, these community forums are to help people, but you're doing the opposite of what you just said. The initial message was more helpful to me than all that crap you said. I switched to Sprint and I never lose calls and I could care less about 3G crap, a phone is for making calls, I have a computer and its utilized for internet usage, so screw 3G crap on a cellular device. I'm sure most who don't need all those pointless luxuries would very much agree.
Sprint is far better to me than Verizon, not only that but I don't get strange data charges. To sum it all up, I hope others read this and I hope they find it helpful to see that quite a few people have had terrible experiences with Verizon, and perhaps they'll steer clear of renewing their contract, or sadly having to pay a rediculous amount to terminate the burden/ contract.

You are right. I had the same problem we got charge for spam. When I called customer service gave me a code to put in so I would not receive that spam again. So I guess every time you get a spam you have to call to get a code also, how in the world can a cell phone get spam text. I believe Verizon knows exactly what they are doing to make money. On top of that they do not even advise you that it is a spam and not to open it. We have unlimited text so I guess that don't mean sugar honey ice tea to have that when u getting charge 10 dollars a spam. Smh

Call VZW CS, 800-922-0204, and ask them to put a block on what is called Premium Text Messages ( otherwise known as Text by Advertisers, always charged out at $9.99 per text) and that will fix your problems now and in to the future.

Sprint (cheaper) no coverage, T-mobile (cheaper) no coverage, AT&T about the same price, dropped calls and crappie 3G coverage. Customer Service, Verizon rules. (Trust me I have had the others) So all I have to add is Good Luck.
When you have problems on Verizon
Call customer service first, if you need to replace the phone or need service make sure you use a CORPORATE store.

My question is, if you are so unhappy with the phone, why do you dislike Verizon Wireless? It doesn't make sense, as they provide the service, they do not manufacture the phones.

You all could run for congress the way you point fingers. BB says your downloads are poor, you say that BB manufactures these phones, so blame them. You keep forgetting one thing. WE ARE THE CUSTOMER... I'm sorry, WERE the customer.
Somehow treat the customer fairly, and work with your "suppliers" to FIX the issues...NOW

I don't understand why so many people have problems with their phones. I just got a used Storm to tide me over until another BB comes out that I want and its been problem-free. There is a learning curve with these things, but it seems to me if you really understand how to use the thing, do a bare minimum of research, ask the right questions on forums like these and pay attention to memory, applications and downloads and such, there should be no reason why these phones don't work consistently.
Further, the few times I've called VZW I can't praise them highly enough for solving all my issues right away.
Its almost like the complainers are using and talking to a different company than I am.

NONSENSE!! You MUST be a Verizon employee. This is the only logical explanation of why you're posting something NICE.

I totally agree with you here. I have had the storm 1 from day 1 and it had a few minor issues and I did have to get it replaced once, but since then it has been perfeft! I feel that as long as you know how to use the device correctly and not load up a bunch of 3rd party apps, you should be good. Also, the few times I have called customer care, they have been AWESOME to deal with! I have had AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile in the past and hands down verizon is the best!

I guess I can understand if you've had bad experiences with Verizon customer service but why do you complain to Verizon about a Blackberry issue? Do you call your cable company when your TV screen goes bad?

When you go to walmart and buy a Samsung TV, and it doesn't work when you get it home, walmart doesn't tell you to take it to Samsung, they exchange it or give you a refund. Verizon doesn't make the phone, but I didn't buy my phone from RIM. Verizon sold me the phone, therefore they are liable for it. This whole don't blame Verizon is **bleep**. They may manufacture the phone, but they are liable for selling a faulty unit.
