Speed test apps?

I've been searching for an app to test network speeds for my BlackBerry Bold (just idle curiousity!).  Websites, even mobile sites, all seem to need flash to run the speed test.  None of hte apps in app world are available for the Bold (that I can determine).

How do I find out what kind of speeds i am getting from 3G vs our home wi-fi (on the Bold)?   I can run a speed test on my com[puter but I'm interested to see how the wi-fi comes through on the phone as well as how it compares to a 3G connection.

Another interesting aside that may or may not have anything to do with network speed, but I seem to get email faster on the BB than on my computer.  With the phone sitting beside me on my desk while I am at my computer, I will get the notification on the BB of an email.  I cna even open it, read it, sometimes even respond before I get the email on the computer....is this typical??

I can't answer about the speed test part but I do have a comment about email delivery times. Both my husband and I have the Curve 8530 bought the same time over a year ago. Sometimes we sent email to each other for transferring of data purposes. Sometimes email arrives on the BB immediately and before my laptop. But most of the time there is a lag on the BB of up to 15 minutes. Especially if it is BB to BB. I wonder if anyone else notices this.

Cute, but no help! And I can't find that app in BB App World either. The posts are all from 2009, so maybe it no longer exists.

Sorry, I didn't go any further than to find the forum pages.

In searching, I think I came across one from Cisco on the Blackberry appworld website. I have no way to test.
I also checked Speedtest.net and they don't have a Blackberry application.

I tried the Cisco one but it would not download to my phone - ahhh, well. I'm curious what speed I'm getting but can't seem to find out.

JMB - so email delivery is inconsistent on the BB for you. Wonder why that is? I seem to get it without a delay; like I said it seems to get to the BB before it gets to the computer!

Sorry to keep you up at night, Ann154! The link appears to be for desktop browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc) not mobile browsers. The general consensus across several boards seems to be that speed tests for BB's are few and far between, and don't work on all devices.

:::sigh::: I'll keep looking and see if eventually I'll come up with something.
