My Storm 2 worked great for about a week and then I started having problems with the back button andonce in a while, end call button. Mostly it's the back button.
At times they don't want to work at all. It make take 3-4 attempts at getting them to work.
I took it back to the verizon store near me and of course it worked fine there.
But sure enough, later that day I started having the same issue.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
Anyone else have this problem?
Any fixes?

Hello,
Maybe there's a conflict with third party application.,If installed application, if any..
Delete from first to last at a time.. Do some testing, delete first app,
and see if phone still does the same thing.

You have not added anything to your phone? How about ring tones, games, pictures, videos? Have you tried to calibrate the screen? Possibly it's a sensitivity issue, have you tried using a pencil eraser as a stylus? I have seen a few reports of Storm users on here that are having issues similar and using a stylus has resolved the issue until a more permanent fix is released. Let me know on these questions and we'll go from there.

No apps.
I do have a stylus from my Storm 1, but why should I have to use a device like a stylus to make the product work as it should in the first place?
It's suppose to be a touch screen.
What is screen calibration?

OK the touch itself has nothing to do with the buttons you are talking about. I misunderstood what we were talking about. If you are having to push the buttons a few times then it is a hardware issue not software and you need to get a replacement. however it will be a certified like new so I'd give it another week and see if the button loosens up any. Otherwise it will need to be replaced. I apologize for the confusion.

Hello,
Hey have you tried a battery pull, if so, maybe there's a bad OS 5.0 install.. after phone restart still the same, I would reccomend you wait till phone acts up, don't touch it when it's starting to do what it does, and take it to store?
Hope everthing turns out great!!!

I would call CS at 800-922-0204, push button prompts as asked, and then when you are asked what the reason you are calling for, ask for BB tech support. You must call from another number other then the one you are calling about. They will help you either get it working or send you back to the store for a no questions asked exchange. Depending on how long you have had it, it will either be a exchange for a new one, or a refurbished one. I know you went to the store already and had no problem there but the CC BB Tech should be able to have you wipe it and re insatll and see what happens.
Good luck.

No need to apologise. I do apreciate any help.
The buttons in question on the Storm 2 are actually part of the screen, not like the Storm 1 which had a separate button area.

Michelle mentioned using an eraser as a stylus. My Storm2 won't work with a stylus. Is it supposed to? Only a finger will push a button.

The only thing I'm having a issue is with the back button not clicking correctly all the time. Sometimes it works great 20-25 times in a row, then for some reason it won't click. I'll have to push two or three times to make it work.
When I'm trying to do this, I'm just backing out of email mostly, back out of a web page. Just normal functions for the phone.
I did go back to the store and of course it worked fine for the guy at the counter. I asked the guy if anyone else had complained about this problem and he said no one. I was the only one.
He acted like I was trying to return it and get out of the contract..
I'm not. I actually think this is a great phone and it does everything I need it for.
I'm a little leary of taking it back and getting someone else's returned phone that may have the same other other issues. ( I've heard that story a couple times).
I'm hoping it was a software or setting issue I couls deal with.
I hate going to a store to complain about a problem and not being able to recreate it and looking like a idiot.
I'd rather do that here.
I am very grateful for any help offered.
Thanks

I bet it is a memory issue! have you tried waiting a few and clicking the button again? Try and go through a bunch of applications, play some music, go on the web then type a text then go to your email and hit that back button, if it lags for a little then it's the memory. Let me know if you are able to recreate with something like this. There is always a solution to a problem, sometimes its just not so evident.
By the way if you can list the applications you have added that would help, I am betting some of them run non stop in the background or take a while to shut down when you click end....

I have the same problem with the storm 2. Most of the time the back button will work and then it won't, it feels like the phone has been locked when you try to press the back button because you don't hear or feel the click. If I wait maybe 5 seconds and try the button again it works. It doesn't bother me enough to go get a replacement. There are a lot of other people who are having the same problem with the same button. If you go to crackberry.com, go to the forum for Storm 2, you will find a poll about how many people are having the same problem and it's like almost 60% of people.
