On 10-23-10 my blackberry storm 2 wiped out all of my contacts and I still have not been able to retrieve them. Please inform when & how the contacts will come back. What is going on?!?!?!? It's been 3 days already!

There is currently a Nationwide outage with backup assistant. Our team is aware of the issue and is working diligently to have the issue resolved. At this time, there is no estimate time of recovery. Thank you for your patience.

For what it's worth, I also own a BB S2 and lost my contact list on Monday, December 27, 2010. The contacts are SOMEWHERE in my phone. When I select "contacts", I see 200+ copies (identical) of one of my contacts and about 10 of the rest of the 299 contacts I used to have access to. I am using "Backup Assistant", but based on the message from Verizon attached to your post (and noting the date of October 2010), it looks like I'll be DOWNGRADING my service when my contract is up. What a pity.
Can U hear me now??

I had the exact same problem after doing a software update. Everything about the update seemed fine, except my missing contacts. I uploaded the contacts two times, once with GooSync and once with the vzw backup assistant. Both programs told me that the sync was successfully completed, but when I tried to open my contacts, nothing appeared. I know that the contacts are on the phone, they are just not viewable. And now, when I try to add a contact, the phone creates dozens of the same contact. This is very frustrating. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with someone from Technical Services and she was just stumped. She had me try everything she could think of to figure out why the contacts are not displaying. Nothing worked. I don't know if I'll ever do a software update again. I hope we all get a resolution to this soon.
