Grabbed a used Storm to replace my near-dead (but faithful) Curve until there's a BB for which I want to use my upgrade.
So far so good, but this browser - what's up with it? Pages load up microscopic in size, when I zoom, I have to scroll all over the place to see everything. What a pain. My Curve, I don't know, it worked like my PC works in terms of internet. I can see the whole page, everything works fine. Does the switch from the track ball input to touch screen hamper the browser?
Thus, are there any settings or tricks I can use to make this Storm act like the Curve in terms of browsing? All the setting are pretty much the same between the two, so ???? I am using the default BB browser, and I believe the latest version of the BB's operating system.
Hopefully my post makes sense. Search didn't turn up anything that seemed relevant to my issue, so I am thinking I must be goofing something up!
Thanks

What OS are you running? You can check by going to Options>about. The 3rd line down should tell you which version. Also, did you check under your Browser Options and compare the boxes you have checked with your Curve and Storm?

Hi,
It looks like v5.0.0.328
Yes, I was running the same settings...however I switched to "column" view and most websites/forums now are squeezed into one column where I can actually read it, but still this doens't match the super easy browsing of my old Curve.

I don't have a column view in my Storm, where did you find that? When I turn my S1 to landscape mode it (browser works fine) you have to turn it from portrait clockwise to landscape where all buttons are under your right thumb.

I find column view in general properties in "Default View" where one can choose page or column. Also, I have a button on the bottom of the screen right above the menu (BB) button that you can use to switch the views while on the page.
So when I turn the phone over to get to landscape, AND switch to page view it looks like the normal webpage, but the font is unreadable. If I zoom, then I just can't see the whole page so I have to move around to get from the leftmost side to the rightmost side. Maybe this is just how it is with the Storm.

I cannot find the general properties or default View. I do know you can set the Font and the Size under options Icon. If you Zoom in and it is a little too big you can drag your finger across the screen and move it back and forth to read it.

The General Properties are simple to find.
1. Open the Internet Browser
2. Once the browser is open, click the BlackBerry button on your phone.
a. This will activate your menu.
3. Scroll through the menu until you find "Options."
a. Now click on "Options"
4. Now you should see the following four categories
Browser Configuration
General Properties
Cache Properties
Gears Settings
5. Selected and click on "General Properties"
a. In this screen you will find "Default View"...It should be the 6th selection from the top moving down the screen on the left side.
I hope this helps.
