Synchronization with Microsoft Outlook?

I'm looking to upgrade to a smartphone, either Blackberry or Droid. However, I need to synchronize contact information with Microsoft Outlook. Is this possible with the Blackberry? If so, how? The Verizon salesman did not know.

Yes, BlackBerry easily syncs with Outlook. You would use free software called Desktop Manager, which is also how you'll back up your device. Here's a link to more info on the BlackBerry site: http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/desktop_pc.jsp

Contacts are synced with Outlook to Blackberry via the Blackberry Desktop Manager application.  This is a free application for your desktop computer that facilitates backups, contact sync, media sync, application updates.  Very easy to use and works well (IMO).
