Tethering on my Tour

I have tethered with USB and Bluetooth connection using VZAccess Manager for several years using my Pearl 8130 and I just switch to the Tour and the tethering no longer works. VZAccess Manager hangs up when connecting to the phone with "Initializing..." displayed and the phone gets the "Modem mode" message but it does not connect to the Internet and I eventually have to kill VZAccess Manager because it never gets an error message but just keeps hanging on the initializing message. Anything any one could think of that I must do separately for the Tour? I pared it via Bluetooth successfully and also used a USB for direct connection to my XP workstation.

I am having the same issue with my new blackberry tour 9630. VZ access manager detects it and connects for about 30 seconds then disconnects. Does anyone have the fix for this?

This worked for me:
Update your vz access manager, click on detect device then choose "handheld" not smartphone.
Hope it works for you too.

I can't get VZAM to detect my 9630 via Bluetooth either. It's paired properly, but no joy with Bluetooth. The USB cable works fine though.
