I have a Blackberry Curve 8330. Text messages are limited to 160 spaces. Is this the maximum available per message or can this number be increased at all? News alerts received are usually broken up into 2 messages, which is annoying.

Hi,
Welcome to the forums. The limit of 160 characters for an SMS is the industry standard as of now. That standard is common for all of the carriers. Some carriers allow for you to break a larger message into two or more SMS messages, but Verizon does not at this time. The workaround for this would be to send a MMS, email, or Instant Message. I hope this helps.
