Texting

I sent someone a text back in September.  I have a Blackberry Curve and this person has a Droid Incredible, and we both have Verizon as our carrier.  This person tell me that this one particular text repeatedly shows up time after time on their phone.  Now I text this person numerous times each day, but only this one particular message continually shows up on their phone like I just sent it.  Is it my phone or theirs.  Does anyone else have this problem or had this complaint?

Hi,

I have been thinking about this post all day and think I may have an answer.  When you start a text message to this person, whom you say you text frequently, do you start a new message from scratch, or do you open your message folder and find the last message to that person you sent and send the message from there?  I hope I am explaining this so you can understand.  Try to delete any old messages you have sent this person.  It would be best if you empty the message folder of all messages by deleting all of the messages.  Then, start a text message and see if that person continues to get the old message.  I think all you were doing was continuing on with an old text conversation.  That is one of the features of OS 5, threaded messaging.  Let me know here in the fourm how this works out.

It sounds like a problem with the other device.  Lets try some steps to correct this issue:

First delete the old message on both phones.

Then power the phone off and then back on.

Then dial *228 send and option 1 on each device.

Also make sure the message is not locked on the Droid Incredible and check the message settings if the message comes back.

Touch the message option.
Not all options will be available with all messages.

Lock Message
Locks the message.

Copy attached to SD card
Copies the picture to the SD card.

Delete message
Deletes the message.

Delete thread
Deletes the entire thread.

Copy message text
Copies the message text.
These settings above may cause the message to stay in the phone.
The user would want to make sure the thread of the message is deleted.

Someone else posted the same issue, this was my suggestion to them to determine which device is the cause of the issue.

Have your friend block your number temporarily via MyVerzion. (It is free) If the texts stop, then you know it is not their phone. If they continue, then their phone is the issue as a text from a blocked number would not make it through.

When they unblock the number and if it's start again, then most likely the issue is your phone

Just an idea to try before doing a hard reset.
