Trying to decide on a BlackBerry

I am trying to decide which device would best fit my needs.

I am looking for something to check email while away from the office and open documents and edit as needed.

Instant messaging some

Texting often

Also on the phone frequently.

Also enjoy music, games, and the "fun" of a new phone.

I am looking between the Tour, Curve, and Storm.

Concerned about all the issues I've read about the Storm however know  several people who have them and have had no problems.

I just don't want to get a new phone and then wish I'd gone bigger and better before I can upgrade again. :smileyhappy:

I had that same quandry and I have no problem with my Storm. Most are user error. If you do not close each app. when you finish it will slow down the Storm and will suck your battery down. :smileyhappy:

Hi,

As the owner of 2 Tours (mine and my wife's), I can vouch for the Tour.  We have have them for a little over a week after recently upgrading from the Pearl.  The Tour has plenty of memory and has a lot of space to add apps.  My wife and I have really enjoyed playing the included game called Word Mole which is multiplayer.  It came on the phone and is addictive.  We have had no problems thus far which our Tours.

I agree with the Doc. The Tour is a great device. Definitely the workhorse of Blackberry's. I can run about 4-5 apps at the same time and switch back and forth frequently without any lag. How's that for multi-tasking? The fancy pants iphone can't do that.

It's a beautiful phone with an awesome screen and a keyboard that's a joy to use. For $150 it's a steal.

On the flipside, I have atrocious battery life and an 11 minute boot time after removing the battery. I've heard it's not t ypical though and I'd imagine so, I'm a reluctant abuser of my phone. ...maybe it's because I have more than a dozen apps installed. Time for a hard wipe.

I have done extensive research on Storm vs I phone vs Storm 2 etc. I just bought my Storm on Friday when the sale started for $49. I can tell you there is a learning curve. There are a ton of videos on Youtube and Crackberry.com can help you optimize your phone.

Having that said I LOVE my storm. The surpress keyboard is the fastest and best I have every texted. I have no issues with speed. There are not a lot of difference between the storm and storm 2. Of course  a little faster processor, wifi, will be added and a newer version of RIMs touch screen.

The new Storm2 will not add any additional capabilites that the storm does not already have. Other than WIFI networks and if you have the unlimited internet, I dont think the wifi will speed up anything anyway.

GOOD LUCK

You always have 30 days to return it. You can also just wait a few months for the storm 2 to come out.

WRONG!!

The screen and touch mech ( using Piezo with 4 sensors instead of one, can click more than one thing at once ) is completely revamped, more memory and WIFI. Read the reviews of individuals using it ,search youtube for Salomondrins video of it. It is night and day difference and deffinately worth the wait. Watch someone type on it, watch how much snappier the accelerometer works. Its everything the Storm 1 should have been:smileywink:

If thats not enough to convince ya wait to you see the Blackberry Essex  coming early next year. Its more than a Tour thats for shore.

30 Days to return and they will charge you a $35 fee for restocking fee, unless it is not working properly. Other than that, I agree with everything else you said.

I had a problem this AM after being on charge all night and in clock bedside mode. It would not unlock from clock no matter what I did. I tried turning it off and it still wouldn't start up, so I finally took out the battery and then after a long wait time, with the little timer running in the screen, it finally started up. :smileyvery-happy:

I tried an Apple I phone at Walmart this AM and all you have to do is touch the Icons and it works as opposed to the BB Storm which if you lightly hover it will turn blue and then you push down on it before it will accept it. I do not feel and up and down screen motion like with the BB Storm.
