Until a CDMA Passport hits the FCC it's all rumor and innuendo. Verizon has the BlackBerry Classic right now. I'd prefer the Passport but I'm going to get the Classic to hold me over. I'm hoping the Passport will come to Verizon but a lot is riding on Friday's earnings numbers. If handset sales are as dismal as Morgan Stanley says then there is no chance we'll get Passport. Morgan said BlackBerry has sold a grand total of 8,000 Passports AND Classics -- combined!!
If things are not as bad as MGS says, then we could *possibly* see the Passport come to Verizon. But I'd expect it to take a year or so. And that's if it comes at all.

Given how little respect Blackberry gets when you are choosing a new handset in their stores, it's a wonder anyone has bought them at all.

They definitely lied to you. No person you would be able to speak to would have that information or the ability to release it if they did

8000 is not the grand total. That's the number sold during the quarter it was introduced. You have taken this value out of context and stated it across the forum several times. You should stop saying it.

You are correct - I misquoted the Morgan Stanley piece. Still, 1.4 Million devices sold for the entire quarter, and that's all devices, is still abysmal. With BlackBerry putting up numbers like that, does anyone think Verizon will make the kind of commitment to the Passport that would convince BlackBerry to make a CDMA version? Does anybody believe that Sprint - the only other CDMA carrier - would be a help with sales?
No, the Passport is *almost* definitely NOT coming to Verizon. I'd love it if it did, don't get me wrong. But I don't think it's a realistic possibility. That's why I just got a BlackBerry Classic!

Technically Verizon is no longer a CDMA carrier. Eventually all carriers will be GSM in the US with VoLTE being the staple
