I recently downloaded the update for VZAccess Manager and for some reason it doesn't detect my phone anymore. I use my BlackBerry Storm as a modem and tether it to my computer. I had no problems with the previous version of VZAccess Manager. Has anyone else had this problem?
I am also having the same problem with my Storm. Downloaded the new VZAccess Manager and ever since it has not worked. I have tried to Detect Device and it never fully detects it!
I had the same issue with my Blackberry Storm and the update to VZAccess Manager. I spoke with Verizon technical support today and they have had several problems with VZAccess since the 5.0 update. As mentioned by someone else, the only resolution at this point in time is to go back to the older version of VZAccess. I reloaded it from the CD that came with my Storm and it works perfectly. Give it a try.
I recently spent 2 hours on a 'real' phone with Tech Support on this problem. After 2 hours she finally read the little notes at the bottom of the list of updates and found that the VZ Access DOES NOT support the original Storm - period - no work around. That didn't stop Verizon from charging me $15/month for non-existant service!!!!!!!!!! (not to mention my time trying to solve an unsolvable problem.
The Storm is NRPT (not ready for prime time), and is not a reliable device for business use.
Prior to the VZ Access issue, I had a multitide of problems including screens lockups, the unit powering off & restarting while in use and others. The phone was replaced and problems persisted. The recent software update was a big improvement but yesterday it gave me a new "null...." error message when it wouldn't display the keypad, while waiting for input for a text message ???
I give up - its a piece of crap - rushed to market long before it was a reliable device. Plus they owe me for 5 months of fake VZ Access service at $15/month.
