Eric,
@EricW_VZW you didn't answer the question. The latest update listed in your link was over 2 months ago. If Verizon knows it's important to get the latest updates then relase Marshmallow for the Priv.
I'll repeat the question myself. When will Marshmallow be availble for the Blackberry Priv? At least tell why it's taking so long.

Whats telling here is the Priv on AT&T and T-Mobile both got the update in May of this year. Tomorrow is October 1st...the update is on other Priv devices. All Verizon has to do is make sure it works with their redundant apps make any tweaks they feel are worthwhile (sometimes VZW has BB put in some extra goodness) and roll it out.....I want to buy this device, but I will pass if VZW has no plans to update it.

Same no answer as always. This is a security issue. The Priv is not as secure without MM. Why is Verizon always last?

I opened an FCC complaint and the response was the same thing. Same link and "we have the highest standards in testing updates because that is our pledge to our customers" Standards so high that vital security patches never make it past testing. I should have stayed on ATT.

Nougat, a.k.a. Android 7, should be available on August 22nd. I don't know if you can download/install it directly from Google or if you have to wait for the Verizon release.

Your phone works fine. Stop clambering for a software update. BB was late to the party as it is. 9.9 times out ten there is no high class security that will be need for new software anyways.

How long should we wait? Shouldn't we get updates in a timely manner? It's been almost two months since the last security updates.

No. And here's why.
This is blackberries first foray into the android world. They have always had their own software and own control. This is the first phone they have that's a hybrid. This was known to shoppers before it came out. It is unrealistic to think that things would be flawless. The average consumer does not need "security updates" and if so should have gone with a tried and proven device initially.

The sooner that people realize it's not the blackberry of old and is just another android device the better. Actually, understanding it's just an android is better. It's an android in bb clothing.

Where do you get your info from? Read every article about the Priv and it clearly says with MM it is 1 of the most secure phones out there. You need to stay off this forum, you have no idea what you are talking about.

What difference does it make about who makes the phone? It should be up to date. Verizon can not get their people to get it working. I know for a fact because I talked to BB and Verizon, it was released in April to all carriers, only Verizon can not get it working.

An e-mail from BB ..........
Hello Randy,
Good day!
For latest update with regards to the Marshmallow software for your PRIV. Verizon have provided us this website: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/blackberry-priv-update/.
Based on my resources this was officially released on Aug.22,2016. To tell you honestly, we haven't received any update yet about the Nougat but I can assure you that you will be informed once this software has been released on our end. Currently, the latest software available for PRIV is Marshmallow.
Since, we do not have a timeframe yet as to when the update will be released on Verizon's end. I would also like to ask if we can temporarily archived your existing ticket? Do not worry, your ticket will remain accessible for the next 5 days. If you require further assistance just dial the numbers provided below. Also, if you have time an email survey will be sent to you with regards to the service I have provided.
Have a great day!
Mary

There must be soME nefarious reason Verizon does not want to upgrade to Marshmello. I suggest a class action suit by everyone who wants it. Marshmello has extended aPP SECURITY THAT IS PROBABLY PISSINGOF THE MORONS AT vERIZON. iT IS AVAIABLE FROM TbLACKBERRY SITE, BUT IS BLOCKED BY vERIZON. wHY/
mAYBE WE SHOUOLD GIVE BACK THE PHONES AND GOP TO at&t.
