I find it absolutely ridiculous that we don't have information from Verizon on the release date yet. I am trying to hold on with my phone that is having multiple issues, but I can't do it much longer. It's almost considered a paperweight right now. I've been with Verizon for over a decade now and I feel as though there is a great amount of disrespect around this issue! SOMEONE at Verizon knows what is going on and it is a CHOICE to not tell their customers.

Vote with your wallet. Switch to AT&T or T-Mobile if its that important to you. Or buy it directly from Blackberry with a credit card, pay on it monthly, and go use it with whichever carrier you choose. Since subsidies, and therefore contracts, are no longer a thing there's no point in locking yourself down to one particular carrier anymore. There are A TON of other options available you guys. You might actually save yourselves a couple of bucks along the way. I know how frustrating Verizon's communication skills are, I've been through the same thing with a different device a few years ago, but back then they were one of the only carriers offering that particular phone so I was stuck. Luckily its a different situation with the Priv and may be one you should take advantage of.

The delay may be Blackberry getting back at Verizon for treating them badly with BB's last flagship product, the Z30. Most reviews at the tie said it was the best smartphone available when it came out, but Verizon quickly decided not to sell it to individual consumers, after having negotiated an exclusive deal with BB. Verizon were the only ones allowed to sell the Z30, and then they refused to serve the bulk of the market. So this time AT&T and T-Mobile got first crack at the flagship. My office has contracts with both Verizon and AT&T for cell phones -- maybe I can switch from Verizon to AT&T and get a Priv!

Somehow I don't think BlackBerry is "punishing" anybody by withholding their devices. They just don't have that kind of power anymore. BlackBerry's only hope for their handset division to survive is to get their phones in everybody's hands that could possibly want one. My guess is that it has more to do with getting CDMA certification.
