Sprint has a release date, verizon does not, does that mean we should go to sprint?
I would really like to go with verizon, but if they can't produce a date, then what?

I think the Bold will be coming to Verizon Wireless close to the date that Sprint announced. I believe one of the reasons VzW has not announced a date is that they don't want to affect current sales on smartphones. If you can get good reception with Sprint, then by all means, go for it if that is what you want. I know that in my area, Sprint does not have good service. Verizon and Cellular South are the carriers in my area with good signals. Anyways, just my opinion.

But wouldn't this be treating customers poorly? To just ignore them and push them off to sprint?

Who said Verizon was pushing their customers off to Sprint? It's YOUR choice who you go with, and if you decide to leave because you can't wait for a release, that's not them pushing you off. That's you being impatient.

I am patient thats why i'm still waiting , the problem is not patience, its about providing a release date for your customers.
Just like ATT announced the blackblerry slide for june , where as verizon has kept quiet about this device, as if they don't want to sell any?

I think you are confused on rumors on the internet and what has been officially talked about.
The "blackberry slider" is a rumored device (though I am sure it is real), it doesn't even have an official name. NO carrier has announced a release date for this.

Regardless the Spring Bold (tour2 or whatever) is real, and has a real release date of May 23th. Just as the verizon bold is real, and has been passed around some at verizon, they have the rebate forms out for it. So clearly they are getting it, but why keep it quiet>?
Unless you think verizon makes up fake phones on their own rebate forms?

If you have proof, why are you getting all upset? Verizon's probably testing it right now and does not even KNOW when they are going to release it. It could have a ton of problems, you don't know.

If you say it has a ton of problems, why would sprint release it and not verizon?

Also, the top people at Verizon most likely won't read your post or any of these complaint posts on here. Your efforts are wasted, unless you speak directly to them, or simply take your service elsewhere. That's the only way to show them.

SrGodLess, well thanks for putting words in my mouth, for one thing. I said it COULD have problems, not that it does. And another thing, who's to say Sprint won't push their release date back further, thus "treating the customers poorly" and not giving them an actual release date. If the phone DOES have issues, or has some setback coming from the maker, then Sprint would push the date back, and Verizon would probably release it at the same time they do.

Oh, awesome. That's great, you can switch to Sprint now and stop complaining to Verizon. Thanks, bye

Honestly, I would switch to sprint if I didn't have my contract. I like verizon's service but I really want that 9650. I wish I could get out of my contract. I have been a Verizon customer for 12 years but that doesn't mean anything.

Or Investors could sell off Verizon Stock, once they see that consumers are trying to make them money but Verizon can't deliver

These Verizon employees like to put there 2 cents worth in whenever they can! What a way for them to spend their paychecks.
Let me once again remind the Verizon forum trolls that not everyone has a choice of carriers. Some are locked into corporate plans where the benefit goes to the company, not the user. Sound familiar?
Some of you should wake up (especially if this is your industry of employment) and read some of the other forums, blogs and leak sites related to the BlackBerry, Droid and others that are out there...
- We have known for months that Sprint was getting the new Bold first. The cowards at Verizon were concerned about a lawsuit because of the Tour units they stuck their customers with during the holidays. FYI - This 9650 we have been complaining about was originally dubbed the Tour 2. It was ready for release back in February. RIM held it back from Verizon because they didn't want a lawsuit either. What great planning.
- We have known for months that the Bold 9650 and new Pearl would be released at WES in Orlando. Verizon was not given the rights to the Pearl. Oh yes, Verizon = clout. That is why Verizon will be the 2nd or 3rd carrier to get the 9650.
- Leaks on the new Slider have been out for months. It has no Bold or Curve name attached to it so go figure - it will most likely be called the Storm 3. 3rd time is a charm? Verizon customers will NEVER KNOW because AT&T will be releasing this phone first. That leaves AT&T with the iPhone and the most attractive BlackBerry yet. Verizon? They are such leaders.
Unfortunately, SrGodLess, investors will not sell off their stock because they drank the same kool-aid my company did. "It's all about the network, and we will have 4G out soon if not first." Great news for IT, bad news for the employee. Great network, bad phone. Verizon would rather take our thousands of phone contracts and give us crap for phones to use on their fancy network. Follow the money.

I was refering to the " blackberry slider".
Why are you blaming Verizon? How do you know the hold up isn't with RIM and getting the thing to Verizon. And that the other carries have just set a date. There are a lot of pieces of the puzzle that we don't know before you blame Verizon.

Why would the hold up be with RIM? If sprint is releasing the phone on May 23rd and sprints network is the same technology as Verizon.
Bestbuy and the keiosks already have the Dummy bold 9650 phones on display today for Sprint..........
The verizon reps at the stores are saying that the release date for the verizon version should be the same as sprints May23rd or May 27th
But other than reps confirming the dates, why won't verizon confirm the date?
