I am currently having another issue.
Blackberry Torch 9850 on Verizon BIS. OS 7.1.0.1066 offical Verizon. My location is in Florida, USA.
For the past week, my BBM will not send messages, I get a red X, but I can receive them.
Also, if I use the Blackberry web browser to navigate to www.google.com it pulls up the Spanish - Argentina version.
If I manualy switch it back to English - United States, it simple refreshes back to Spanish - Argentina.
However, if I switch on WiFi and connect via my home network, both BBM and Google function correctly.
So far I have tried:
- *228 option 1 and/or 2. This only worked once and for a few hours.
- Complete wipe and re-install of the OS, reset all settings, and factory reset.
- Traveled to a neighboring city, to get on another cell tower, issues persisted.
- Posted a question about this issue in Verizon Wireless Services , which appears to have been deleted: https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/815826 yet I receieved no message as to why.
- Posted again under a guest account, same result; post missing with no info: https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/1050392#1050392

Got through to Verizon support and they brought in a BlackBerry Tech on the line.
Turns out there was and still is an issue with the Verizon BIS server and they are working on a resolution, but no ETA.

DaFoxGrey, we don't want this to be an ongoing issue for you. You mentioned that you're unable to send/recieve Blackberry messages while connected to our network. However, are you able to access the Internet browser on your device while connected to our network.

re: switching to Spanish
This could be a network issue with automatic timezones enabled. If you turn off time zone support and turn off network time updates you should be able to set your time/date/timezone manually. It seems the network is telling your BlackBerry that you are in Argentina. A firmware/software update might sort this out. If no update is available you can try downgrading to a previous software version. Check out BlackBerryForums.com for tutorials on how to to this plus links to download various software versions.
