i would like to know if there is another way besides downloading an app if you can block calls from a certain person?? thanks
Go into your My Verizon account and click my services tab. Click Verizon safeguards> Spam controls. You can block up to 5 phone numbers. But the blocks expire after 90 days, then you have to re-enter the phone number again. I don't know why block lasts only 90 days, I emailed Verizon tech about it awhile back, even they don't know.

Probably for most people 90 days is sufficient time for someone to get the hint and stop calling/texting. Also because VZW didn't intend for Call & Message Blocking to be a long-term solution. That is why they offer a superior blocking service called Usage Controls for $4.99 a month (per line) that can block up to 20 numbers and doesn't expire. UC does a whole lot more than block calls, too. Also, VZW will change your mobile number and credit you the $15 change fee if you tell them it's the reason is for nuisance calls. So, I think that's actually a pretty good deal for customers.
I'm learning something everyday! I'm happy!
