computer not recognizing blackberry

All the COM ports are working on my laptop.  I plug the blackberry in and it doesn't get recognized.  I tried deleting the software and reeinstalling it, but it still doesn't work.

 

any help?

On my comp. after plugging in BB I click my start button on comp. and there should be a list of the last programs you have run. You should see BB Desktop mgr. Click it and it should open and then give it time to sync up. If that does not work, then click start , program list and find it there and click it. You may have to double click it to get it to start and then again give it time to sync up.
