I am trying to activate a different blackberry phone as mine got all wet. it automatically wants me to sign up for the corporate email service for 15 dollars more and i have no control over it. I am going to AT&T if this is going to be a persistant problem
Is the phone you are trying to activate one that you bought used? If so, I will bet it was used on a Blackberry Enterprise System (BES) and it wants you to reactivate it the same. I would wipe the new device and reload the software. Then try to activate it and it should work.
If it was previously activated on a BES, it may still have the older security policies on the device. RIM can push out a blank service book that will solve that issue. A hard reset will not.
