Ok I am NOT a text messenger. As such I have my SMS and MMS icon buried in the very bottom of the phone. The problem with this is everytime I get a voicemail from someone, I get 2 emails. One for the voicemail, and another telling me that I have a message in my SMS and MMS icon, that by the way tells me I have a voicemail. Has anyone figured out a way to stop this SMS/MMS message?
Verizon doesn't know *BLEEP* about it. They say it is RIM's fault, when the connect me to RIM, RIM says it is verizon's fault.
I just wish that someone would take credit and fix the stupid issue. The way i figure it from talking with RIM in depth about this problem is as they put it. Verizon is in the dark ages still, their system always sends out the SMS/MMS signal, because they have to do this for dumb phones. If they could figure out a way to tell their Voicemail system, not to send this out on smart phones this wouldn't happen.
So if a VZW employee is actually reading these, can you pass this along to someone, And if any of you customers out there who are smarter (well I guess I should say super smart, we are all smarter then VZW) then tech support have figured out a way, could you please pass it along to the rest of us?
Thanks,
I don't use text either and there is a new advertising preferred text message you can receive that will cost you $9.99.
I had Verizon block all text because I do not want to pay .20cts a text or $10 extra a month for this service. I have a phone to call with not text. So call verizon. You can also lightly highlight the SMS Icon go into BB icon and push ( hide) and the SMS will completely go off the screen If you ever need it you go into the same list and select show all. This works with any of the Icons you do not use.
This problem is actually easily fixed in your settings Under your SMS settings, does it say theme controlled, combined, or seperate? I noticed that when I had a similar problem with my Storm I had things set to combined. Set it to theme controlled and that should fix it.
To get to your settings from your sms icon hit the blackberry menu key and scroll to options.
