"Phantom Icons"

My issue is more of an annoyance than anything. Sometimes after I delete an application from my phone, the icon will randomly pop back up on my home screen. I know how to hide it from showing on the screen but I would like to know if there is a way to get it to disappear completely. Anyone know how to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You did not say for which icon, but if it is for any of the pushed apps like Bing or a few others, those are web icons that try to entice you to download that app.  Those icons are pushed to your phone via Verizon or Blackberry.  It might be one of those apps.  As long as you have deleted the program and you hide the icon, you are right, it is just a nuisance.

Yeah the apps that are still showing are VZW Tones, Vcast Videos, & Slacker Radio. Thank you for your information.

What I do is make the ones I want to get rid of highlight, and then push BB menu button, and then select move to folder. Then I pick download  folderor applications folder and move them there. They will not come back out, unless you move them out the same way you moved them in.

Please understand these are not applications until you download them. If you have downloaded them, then they can be deleted. Not the app link but the actual program.

The problem was that after I deleted the applications, the icons did not disappear on their own. I know how to hide them, my only question was if there was a way to make them disappear without hiding them.

My understanding is NO you cannot delete them. But for all practical purposes they are gone, if out of site.
