You have to have a data plan of 29.99 or 45.00 depending if for personal or business.
Don't see why you can't reactivate it You can do it without going into a store or calling CC just dial *228 and listen for the prompts

Great advice Jude526! Just dial *228 from your old Blackberry device and listen to the prompts to activate it on your current line. Also, I would advise you to check your My Verizon account to verify the correct data package was added to your account, if you do not currently have a Blackberry activated.

Hi,
Just a little bit to add...you can not activate a Blackberry from another provider. For example, I had a BB Pearl 8130 with Alltel. I wanted to activate it once when I was having problems with my Verizon Tour, but the system would not let me or a tech activate it. It has to be an old Verizon phone or BB device. Hope this helps.
