$200 gift card

I opened up a new account with Verizon for 4 lines that I switched over from AT&T. As part of the signup promotion, Verizon offered me $200 gift card per line, totaling $800. I was told that I would receive these gift cards after few months. I’ve called Verizon several times and inquired about the status of the gift cards, and I was advised by the customer representative that it is an automatic process, and I will receive them in the mail. I was also advised that there isn’t anything I have to do.

This week, again, I called Verizon to find out about status since I didn’t receive any of the gift cards. To my surprise, now Verizon is telling me that I must have received a text message with some special codes and had to submit a rebate form with those codes to get the gift cards. And I only had 30 days to do it and now it is too late.

When I stated that I called several times to inquire about the status, no one told me about those alleged text messages with special codes. Rather, I was advised that the process is automatic, and I don’t need to worry about it. I asked Verizon to provide me with transcripts of phone conversations, and all they are telling me is that would be a waste of time even if I prove that the Verizon customer service representative basically lied to me. This is a typical bait and switch, and honestly, I would never expect this from Verizon.

I will be cancelling my service immediately and switch back to ATT.

Lol, why you guys acting like you are really helping here? The mod removed my another post which reported my Trade-in problem and how a verizon sales rep lied about promotion details and falsely sold me a plan. When I talked about filing a FCC complaint, the mod removed my post claiming post has violated policies.

Absolute exact same scenario.... I was a pre-existing Verizon customer, my wife switched over,  and we combined our services into one plan. I of course, was promised a $200.00 gift card (honestly, I would be fine with the $200 bill credit). Have contacted customer service multiple times.... no avail.

I do not believe this promotion is even real... I don't know if I have ever even read about anyone actually receiving this promotional offer.

I too was told I would get $200 gift card per line when I signed up.  store told me I would be contacted on how to claim it.  After several weeks, I called customer service and was told I would get an email from Verizon with the information.  Its been two months and no email.  I too changed over from AT&T.  Im wondering if this is an issue for those coming from AT&T and if I should look at going back.

I have this exact same issue. Did you ever get a satisfying solution from Verizon after posting?  After multiple calls explaining my situation over and over again, the supervisor just kept on repeating that it was because the deal wasn't acted upon in 30 days. How they expect people to take action within 30 days when there were never any notifications or emails to even ACT UPON is a mystery to me. I feel like I've been deceived and honestly want to switch back to T-mobile at this point because at least I've never had this level of frustration with them.

This is exactly what’s been happening to me! I’ve called every single month for the last 7 months! They said my $200 gift card has been processed manually said it would be finalized by 09/15/23, nothing is happening. I called back and they’re giving me the run around! By saying it wasn’t submitted on time! Literally, this representative talked over me wouldn’t let finish explaining a rep manually submitted the rebate claim. What a shame that Verizon carries their reputation quite high, yet they let down all their customers by not keeping their promises

I have the same issue. They told me that by transferring my AT&T numbers/lines I was going to get $200 per line. For four lines that's $800 in visa cards. I called last month because they haven't sent anything. The agent confirmed the information based on her notes but told me she needed to escalate this.  It's been over a month and Verizon has not follow-up. This is false advertising and fraud.

@vzw_customer_support You need to start fixing this issues!

@vzw_customer_support

I saved my transcript with the sales/customer service that helped me transfering to verizon.

I still have not get any notification. Yesterday, I was able to get someone from verizon via chat. After explaining the situation the person said that I purchased the phone after the promotion. That is not true.  After I sent the copy of the transcript the connection magically got disconnected and nobody from Verizon has reached out.

I was watching like a hawk and had all sorts of problems getting my phone shipped to me, so I got the "rebate"  But instead of the Mastercard gift card, they sent me codes for verizon gift cards.  I called in about it and the best they had for me was "you can use it on your bill!"  I hung up. Still looking for a solution.

I was told Verizon is the Best but my first week experience has been far from Superior.  They want to sell you everything but when you try to get the credit you are entitled to they fight you tooth and nail.  There is more red tape here than dealing with the govt.  I would give Service and Customer Service a 1 and that i s being generous.  I cant wait until this over priced contract I have is over so I can go back to dealing with a REAL company.

I have had the same issue and cannot get a straight answer from Verizon.  One person said I would receive (how?) the gift cards only after 30 days of service and that then I would only have 60 days to spend all 3 of them.  Another said he would send them out to me within 7 days.  A third said that I had to request a rebate which would take 8 weeks to process / receive?  If anyone from Verizon can help with this please respond!
