$200 gift card

I opened up a new account with Verizon for 4 lines that I switched over from AT&T. As part of the signup promotion, Verizon offered me $200 gift card per line, totaling $800. I was told that I would receive these gift cards after few months. I’ve called Verizon several times and inquired about the status of the gift cards, and I was advised by the customer representative that it is an automatic process, and I will receive them in the mail. I was also advised that there isn’t anything I have to do.

This week, again, I called Verizon to find out about status since I didn’t receive any of the gift cards. To my surprise, now Verizon is telling me that I must have received a text message with some special codes and had to submit a rebate form with those codes to get the gift cards. And I only had 30 days to do it and now it is too late.

When I stated that I called several times to inquire about the status, no one told me about those alleged text messages with special codes. Rather, I was advised that the process is automatic, and I don’t need to worry about it. I asked Verizon to provide me with transcripts of phone conversations, and all they are telling me is that would be a waste of time even if I prove that the Verizon customer service representative basically lied to me. This is a typical bait and switch, and honestly, I would never expect this from Verizon.

I will be cancelling my service immediately and switch back to ATT.

I was also supposed to receive a gift card for my transaction a month and a half ago. The in-store rep said i would still receive it, but I have never seen an email, text, or received it in the mail. However, i did spend over $300 in store and my next bill was outrageous for just adding internet and trading in a phone. I’ve been a member for over 19 years and i still get over charged.

I was assured last month that I would get the gift card after I switched back from TMobile. The manager was very slick with a huge friendly smile as I was walking out the door. How can I get you to sign today? How bout $400? He got my attention with a promise he could not fulfill . 2 lines would be $400 in gift cards so of course they will make it impossible to get. I was told even with my Unlimited Welcome plan by the salesman and manager I would qualify for the gift cards. Today I get an email from Verizon that my plan DOES NOT qualify for gift cards. I will be in the store tomorrow to make some noise. Hello customer service…Can you help me?

They are doing the exactly same thing to me right now. Said i will automatically get $200 gift cards with 3 of the 6 new lines I got recently but i never got those. Today when I called in the check the status, they said i was supposed to redeem the gift cards to get them but I didn’t do it within 60 days and the offer has expired now. So basically they lied to me and robbed me of the $400 that i was supposed to get.

I have been  experiencing the same issue. No emails or anything about the gift cards I was promised at the end of 2023 during my switch to Verizon.

I have the worst as a new customer! First of all 3 of the four lines got set up incorrectly which forced me to spend 3 hours at the store and 3 hours in the morning to finalize get it to make calls.  Now I'm working on getting what is promised through the chat assit which it stated the fastest. I took screen shot of it since I have a gut feeling. I will be returning everything.  Verizon do not promise to hold their end which by sending the $200 gift card to my email once my phone is activated and waive all the actavtion fee.
