Bought a used tablet from a 3rd party. When trying to add it to my policy Verizon said that the IMEI number on the device is noted as "no pay list". I am not able to activate it.
I don't understand. Any non payment should be the responsibility of whomever registered the device before me. Not sure why the non payment follows the device and not the prior owner.
Can anyone offer help in this situation? Can it be added on another carriers service?

This device could have been disconnected without payment, and never paid off, or it could have been stolen and put in a negative list. If this is the case, the original owner has to submit a payment for the device, or remove it from the lost list. Do you have any questions?
