Terrible deceptive practice from Verizon

I transferred from t-mobile  to Verizon back in August of 2022. I started asking questions about different plans and promotions with a verizon agent on this website and was told of a promotion that when you switched and ported a phone# I would get $500 in a form of a gift card within 8 weeks of signing up through email. That would have been October 2022. I never received my gift card nor got any notifications that it was sent via email.

When I called today to inquire, i ended up talking to Jennifer from Customer care. She informed me that besides singing up through to switch and port over to verizon through their website, I would also have to complete a form within 30 days to get my gift card. That form never was sent out to my email nor did I ever get a notification that I would have to complete it in order to get the $500 gift card. So now I get nothing because its past the 30 day window that would have set to expire on September the 3rd.

I am extremely frustrated with this as I feel I got bait and switched. The rep said there was nothing she could, even though, the same $500 promotion is still running on Verizons website. I spent more than an hour on the phone hoping that Verizon would find a way to correct this and in the end, they did nothing. This has and will lead me to leaving Verizon and I will make attempt to reaching corporate to file a complaint. I am a very aware person and one of the reason why I switched was to take advantage of the promo, not the other way around. If I would have been told by the chat agent that I also needed to sign another form to get my $500 gift card, I would have done so right away.

The fact is that I was told the card would be mailed within 2 months to my email. This has been such a bad experience that I will ensure to never recommended Verizon ever again and discourage people from switching. I know I am just 1 customer in the many millions but I deal with a lot. Its not right nor fair that I got some technicality and the fact you still have the same promotion and cannot offer it or extended to me, considering the circumstances is absurd. I hope and expect to get this resolved by some and not ignored like I know you guys have done in the past. I want to reiterate one last time, when it comes to rebates, money or anything that needs to be filled in, we are on top of things and there is ZERO chance I would have made the mistake of not filling a simple form to get the git card. Your website where it states the promotion is also very deceptive since it never states that there would be an additional form needed to be completed to get the gift card. and AGAIN the agent who helped me sign up never once mentioned another form would be needed.

So I dont know if this matters to anyone but I hope someone gets in contact with me and help fix this.

Has anyone helped with this. I had a similar issue and was not able to get any help over the phone with regular customer service. They gave me a P.O.  box to right in a corporate complaint

Hi and thank you for reaching out.  I recently joined Verizon and was told that I would be eligible for 2 $500 bill credits for bringing my own device.  At no time was I told this was something I was required to sign up for. I was told it would automatically apply after a couple of billing cycles.  By the time I called to ask when it would be applied I was told it was too late and my credits had expired.  There is no way I would have allowed $1000.00 in credits to be missed.  I’ve have called at least 4x’s about this issue.  Each time I was told it would be escalated and resolved.  Today I spoke with a “manager” and was finally told it was declined and there was nothing else that could be done without filing a corporate complaint.
I would like to have the opportunity to file for the $500 credits again as I was never told this was a requirement in the first place.
