What happens to the current BYOD Credit on my account if I swap my current phone with a different phone not bought from Verizon

I currently have two lines with iPhone 14 Pro devices, both activated under Verizon’s BYOD offer. I am receiving monthly credits for both phones, with 21 months of credits remaining.
I am now planning to purchase the iPhone 16 Pro directly from Apple using Apple Card financing, while selecting carrier as Verizon at checkout.
Please note: I am not financing the iPhone 16 Pro through Verizon.
My key question is, in this scenario, will I lose the remaining 21 months of credits on both lines, or will I continue receiving them as usual?

Hello. You have a good question. In your scenario, the BYOD credit will be lost, as it is required to have the device active for the remainder of the promotion. For additional details, please check the link below:

Hello Maria, Thank you for the quick response but another post from some time back says differently… can you please check the below Verizon community post and confirm if that’s not valid:

From what I read in the other thread, you can buy whatever other phones you want...but the catch is, you cannot activate (use) them on your current line if you have a device deal currently going. If you activate the new phone to replace your current phone, then your contract is considered broken and you would lose your credits. So unless you want to have a new phone simply laying around which you cannot use until your current arrangement is finished...
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
