Anyone know how to use the AT*WMC commands?

The diagnostic port on the UML290 has a wealth of information, but the parameters to the command are binary  -- AT*WMC=?????...  I have not been able to find any information on how to use them.  I assume it's proprietary, but it would be useful if some basic commands were published like whether it's connected, some basic statistics like its ip address and signal strength, and a way to reset it.
