Can I use "Add Data" cards with prepaid MiFi5510L ?

I bought a MiFi5510L Jetpack at a local Sacto shop with "prepaid" plan (it was $75).  The reason was to enable temporary network access for family visiting at my Mom's for a few weeks.  There are online plans for like $15/60/90 for 250M/3G/10G for one month - but can I also buy the "Wireless Data AddOn Cards" (at CVS and WalMart etc.) to add data in smaller increments like $10/20/30 ...  ??  It is unclear if and which prepaid cards may work with it (or how to use them).

Thanks for any info.

Verizon customer service cannot help with retail refill cards.

READ the back of the card. The card must have Verizon logo and say “Refill card”,

“Pay for all your Verizon Prepaid services” and listing “Mobile Broadband”,

“InComm” and phone # “888-294-6804”

Some cards have: ”Powered by Fastcard” in the upper left corner on the back

The 5510L Prepaid has three data plans: $15/250MB (7 days), $60/3GB and $90/10GB (30 days). It is a three step process to use one of these cards: buy, add, and activate. You have to buy it at an applicable location. At Walmart verify the card # at the top of the receipt is the card you have (Bar code). You have to scratch off and add the card to the account associated with the Jetpack. Then you have to select a data plan and activate it.

There are two ways to use the card. Call number on back and follow the prompts to add the card to your account (identified by the Jetpack’s phone number). Once a balance exists it must be enough to cover one of the three data plans, to purchase a data plan. Once added, you must speak to a Verizon Rep to select and activate a data plan.

The best way to use the card is through your MyVerizon account. When there is no data plan associated with the Jetpack, the Verizon QuickAccess portal comes up when you open a browser. Log in using your MyVerizon credentials, add the card, select and activate a data plan, close the session, turn off the Jetpack leaving it off for two minutes, and power it back on. Check Data Usage and it should show 0.00 GB of X GB meaning you’re good to go. If the Jetpack is not listed in MyVerizon, or you do not have a MyVerizon account, call Verizon and have them fix it or email you MyVerizon credentials.
