Cancelling Netbook data plan

Hello,

 I recently purchased the Gateway netbook through Verizon, and am thinking of cancelling the data plan (and pay the fee, of course).  But I would like to know, if I do cancel the service, will I still be able to use the WiFi on the netbook, or can Verizon somehow block that connection?

You cancel it and use wifi just fine.
