Compaq CQ10 Netbook

I just received my new netbook yesterday! Yay, right? Not so much. The instant I plugged it in and turned it on...it gives me the HP website address and tells me that the cooling fan is not working properly. Can I say that I'm more than a little disappointed?  I really expected better.

Well, I went to the HP website and downloaded all of the updates necessary, still no fix.

I'm so frustrated. All I wanted was a device that works. Sending this one back...and even though it's defective, I STILL have to pay a $35 restocking fee. That's kind of messed up, don't you think?

Hello SaraParris! I'm so sorry to see that your Netbook didn't work out for your. I've had one for 3 years and really get a lot out of it! I am concerned about the restock fee that you mentioned. If you plan to exchange it for the same model, then there will be no restocking fee. Is your plan to return it for refund? Please let me know!

Hi,

The netbook was DOA and I talked to tech support who recommended that I could get another one, deal with the manufacturer about the warranty on it, or send it back and be done with it. I opted to send it back and get a credit. She did say that because it was DOA, I would not be charged a restocking fee...but we'll see. I haven't gotten my bill yet...I hope that I'm not disappointed.

Thanks,

Sara
