The hard drive in my laptop fried and my neighbor installed a new one using XP Media Center version of Windows and a virus protection called AVG. I re-installed VZAccess Manager for my usb wireless modem and now I can connect to the internet ok but it disconnects within a minute. I connected several times to make sure that it wasn't just a quirk in the reception and it kept happening. Does anyone know if this a problem with my modem, with my virus protection, or just a setting in the computer that I need to change? My modem is a Verizon Wireless USB720 Modem.

Try disabling the anti-virus program altogether then try connecting. See if that helps then you know it's AVG.
