Currently I'm using a Moto V325 and sometimes need to access the internet when traveling. I use SmithMicro software on my Mac and a USB cable. Has worked fine for yrs. We are now adding a second plan, a 3G data plan. The old V325 won't work, but I expected the wife's Moto W755 would work since it is both 1X and EVDO, at least that is what the phone screen shows. But when I tried it with the same USB cable, I got an error "no USB cable connected". Any idea why the W755 won't connect? Can anyone suggest another phone that will defiantely work on both 1X and 3G data networks? Must have an external antenna port as well, there are times when we aren't in a 3G area and still need some data capability. Thanks

Do you have the usb drivers for the Motorola w755 installed on your PC? If not, you can install them by clicking here http://www.vzam.net/download/download.aspx.

Mac, not PC so the drivers should be installed, but I will verify. BTW, the W755 and USB cable works fine with a Cradlepoint PHS300 router and connects to the 3G network.
