Facebook page does not load with Samsung SCH-LC11 MIFI Hotspot

All other web pages load, but Facebook will not load. It appears that it is a Verizon problem and there is not quick fix, because the problem has been there since 6-02-11 PM.

I too experienced the same problem.  General access problems according to my wife on Friday 6/3 (probably trying to get facebook), and then the next day (Saturday 6/4) I tried it and could access pretty much every website except Facebook.  I tried to access it on two different devices (one an Ipad2, the other a Samsung Mezmerize smartphone) connected to the Samsung MiFi, and neither could get Facebook, even though other pages worked fine.  I then tried both devices using a different internet connection (the internet hotspot feature on the Mesmerize) and facebook came up just fine.  It behaved as though Verizon was blocking facebook.com (though I can't imagine any carrier would do THAT intentionally!). Both incidents were within the city limits of Chicago.

I later tried and successfully got to the facebook site using the iPad with the MiFi on the next day, in a Chicago suburb, both at my home and when I went into the Verizon store to complain - thus was unable to demonstrate the problem.  They did not offer any explanation of how such a problem would even happen, after a long wait on the phone while in the store was eventually told that they cannot guarantee the performance of a 3rd party site like Facebook and that if that accessing such site is important to me the service might not be right for me.

I of course don't beleive it was a facebook problem, but was too tired to continue pressing them for solutions.  I am still within my 14-day cancel period, so I might just opt out and try another service until my wife is happy she can get her facebook.

In any case, my experience does demonstrate that the MiFi device is capable of accessing Facebook at least at SOME times.  I don't know if that was a specific network quirk during Friday and Saturday (and apparently Thursday according to the first post), but I am not racing out to Chicago anytime soon just to test that theory.  I assumed for some time that Verizon's service would probably be one of the best out there (as they were usually more expensive until recent promo I just got), so my head is kinda spinning on this one.

I've called Verizon twice.  They keep telling me they are working to fix the problem, but can't give an estimate of when they will solve the problem. They've assured me it is a top priority. I hope so since it has been several days since I've been able to get on Facebook.   If you call 611, push 0, you will get someone live to talk to (Verizon).

Our MIFI connected to facebook about a half hour after I talk to a tech rep for verizon on Saturday 6/04/2011. She stated that this was a nationwide problem for verizon.
