Gateway netbook

I purchased a gateway netbook from Verizon and it is a piece of junk.  It is slow, will not stay connected, and doesn't operate properly.  Is anyone else having problems with theirs?  Verizon will not replace it, they say I have to go thru Gateway, who tells me that it is Verizon's problem.  I can also send it in and they will try to fix it and I will be without it for months.  Can I connect an external antenna for better service?

What version of VZ Access Manager are you using? Have you downloaded the most recent version? Also, before you connect, how many bars of signal do you have?

I've been using one for about three months now and have had one problem. When Verizon tech support exhausted their resources they brought Gateway into the loop. 

 

When does it disconnect, when using or idle? VZAM can be set to auto reconnect. Have you done that.?

 

Keep pressing support. Someone has to be able to resolve the problem.
