Has anyone gotten a "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" blue screen crashes in WINDOWS 10 with the JETPACK?

Recently I have been getting bsods with the above error report. As a result the computer has been taken to 2 different repair shops. Neither shop could find any problems with the computers hardware or software, The computer worked flawlessly on both companies wireless connections. I then tried the computer with my phone's hotspot and haven't had the error since. So I know the problem lies within the JETPACK. Has anyone else had this experience? Is there a fix?

I...myself...don't have a Jetpack.

When the computer was at the shops...as a part of the troubleshooting...was the Jetpack brought along in an attempt to duplicate the trouble?

The computer manufacturer and/or Microsoft might be able to shed more light on the cause of the problem.

Which Jetpack?  This sounds more like a USB Modem than it does a Jetpack.

Did you install software for the Jetpack?

No the Jetpack was not taken along. As stated the shops ran complete diagnostics on hardware and software. Neither shop was able to duplicate the error. Therefore the problem does not exist within the computer or programs. Also as stated I have not gotten the error with my phone's mobile hotspot. The only time the error shows is with the Jetpack, therefore there is a communications problem is in the Jetpack.

It is the MiFi 6620L JETPACK with the latest software update installed. Do you need a picture?

Thanks!  Sorry, I wasn't clear! I didn't mean the Jetpack's firmware!

Did you install application software for the Jetpack in Windows?

Such software is not required -- something out of the ordinary is causing the kernel to error.

What steps are required to duplicate the error?

No I didn't install any applications or software for the Jetpack. The error occurs randomly while on line. Does not matter whether using Explorer, Chrome, or Opera. Only common piece of the puzzle is the Jetpack. I was a senior R and D electronic technician for 30 years so I'm fairly confident in my troubleshooting skills. Now my question is has anyone else experienced this malady with the Jetpack? Looking for history before I take the unit to the store or replace the unit.

And this prepared you to diagnose computer hardware problems flagged by a high level operating system that evolved over 30 years? What you brought to the discussion is the added dynamic of randomly generated kernel blue screens, from multiple applications, to further support the false assumption that a network device, which isn’t physically connected to the computer’s hardware, is banging the kernel. Analogy: STD over the phone.

Since you’re an ET, I’ll assume you can remove and reinstall RAM, to reseat it, because that just might fix the problem. Never the less, start with Google’ the error which points to the computer’s basic hardware.

Run Passmark Memtest86, to test your RAM:

http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

Windows has a built in RAM test tool, boot the computer to it.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

http://www.softwareok.com/?seite=faq-Windows-10&faq=95

After both run for a combined total of 72/96+72/96 hours = 1 week, WITHOUT reporting an error, you may have to take more drastic measures. Any error means RAM is at fault. Replacing RAM might fix it. Otherwise, it’s likely a motherboard issue and or may be heat related.

If RAM testing flags errors quickly then you found the problem quickly, no need to continue testing, replace the RAM and retest.

Nope, that's a new one for me and I administrate many Jetpack models.

What do your BSOD dump files have to say about the cause of the crash?

Duckcaller, receiving errors when using your Jetpack would certainly be frustrating and is not the service that we want for you. There are many great troubleshooting steps provided to dive deeper and find the cause. Given our experience, I am sure that you have tried many things. So that we do not repeat any of these steps, please provide details on what steps you have taken besides bringing the computer in for testing. How often is this happening? Is there any specific webpage that you attempt to visit when you see this error?
