I agree with all about needing unlimited usage. I also live in an area that Only Verizon covers. I had Hughes Net for a while. WHAT A JOKE!! Anyways, we are VERY careful to disconnect from our MiFi after every use, BUT the other night my wife accidentally left her computer connected. The computer went out at 2 am and checked for updates. It downloaded 4150 worth!!!
Im 3 days into me month and have none left!!
My question is ...is there a way to set the MiFi security to automatically turn off at a certain time?
I have now changed the setting on my computers to ask before downloading updates, but not sure what other settings are out there just waiting for us to leave connected.

Try changing the power settings on the Mifi device.

The MiFi disconnect issue has been FIXED by Verizon. To see the fix (and the story about how I emailed the CEO of Verizon to get the fix) see http://go.DanielOdio.com/MiFi

It may have been fixed for you, but upgrading to v 159 did not fix it for me. I upgraded months ago, and the problem continues.
