Debating whether to get a hot spot or not. Understanding that the iPhone runs on 3G, it is only $20 extra per month compared to the 4G hot spot that's $50 a month for 5 GB. What is the best route to go, mifi hot spot or iPhone hot spot. I know iPhone hot spot will be slower but aside from that need some pros and cons!
Thanks!!

1 gig vs 5 gig
slow vs fast
Cons would be having to have your phone tied up to your computer for any amount of time, running the battery and maybe interfearing with calls. Pros you can take it anywhere pretty easily and it is easier to set up/use

Approximately how much time online is 5 GB? I think I read somewhere it's equivalent to almost 10 hours? Is that right?

Tethering is $20 for 2GB plus $20 per GB if you go over. 2GB is not enough for most people. A hotspot device has many options including 3GB for $35 plus $10 per GB if you go over. So, on that plan, even if you were to use 5GB some months, you will only pay $55. That's only $5 more than the 5GB plan. That's what I will go with if I ever buy a new device. It really comes down to figuring out how much you need. Watch one Netflix movie and you can use over 1GB.
