I'm posting this as an "alert."
I have now been using Verizon’s MIFI for over a year and the Hot Spot feature of their cell phones for a couple of months. I am also a cyber professional. I travel a lot and had hoped Verizon would provide "on-the-go" internet. WRONG!!!
If you need even respectable internet service, look elsewhere. Verizon’s MIFI and HOT SPOT capability are completely unreliable! Even with 4-bars of service at locations around the country, the internet throughput often drops BELOW 1kB/sec for hours on end. That's not to say I get >100kB/sec at times ... but often NOT. DO NOT be fooled by their advertising. It’s garbage!

A typical 3G connection should be close to 1 MB for download speed. 4G LTE should be atleast 5MB. Anything lower than those numbers should be correctable by performing the resets or replacing the hardware under warranty.
What troubleshooting steps have you gone through with your devices?

I agree. Our MiFi has never connected and stayed connected for more than 10 min (if even that long) at a time. I Hate this device!
