Network Extender - my experience

Pluses

  • No monthly fee
  • Clear set up instructions
  • In my area, it picked up a GPS signal in less than 2 minutes and was fully up and running in less than 10 minutes
  • No problem connecting it to my LInksys router

 

Be aware of

  • Make sure the antennae is screwed in completely.  Mine was loose.
  • Use #48 to check to be sure your phone is connected to the extender
  • The Manage phone number feature will not block usage from others if you are located in a true dead zone

 

Cons

  • It only improved my reception by one half bar
  • Initial price is high

 

Conclusion

  • Because my reception only improved by one half bar, I returned it.....too bad

 

Background

I have cable high speed internet and I connected the extender to my router via ethernet cable.  I was able to place the extender in front of a window and 10-12 feet away from the computer and router.
