Network extender 3g - bad gps data

Just got the new 3G network extender.

It seems to work fairly well, except for one seriously annoying issue:  it thinks i'm in staten island, when I'm actually in upstate new york, about 200 miles north.

The GPS gets a lock fine - all lights on the extender are blue - however the reported location via 2 different android phones (droid1 and droid2) is staten island.

Resetting the unit doesn't help.

Besides being annoying, I can't help but think this isn't great for E911, either.

Suggestions?
